We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join Stuff Digital’s growth team and support us in delivering incredible experiences for New Zealand’s biggest news audience.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide simple, accessible data and insights both at pace and for future planning to ensure we understand our audiences. You’ll see what others don’t. You’ll help Stuff Digital make the right decisions on everything from story commissioning to search optimisation to content distribution.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: Background in statistics, applied mathematics, computer science, market research or relevant practical experience.
  • Analytical: Ability to look at numbers, create meaningful graphs, tell the story creatively and surface up unique and proprietary insights
  • Clarity: Ability to tell signal from noise in the data, and answer the ‘so what?’ question behind the observed numbers and patterns
  • Reporting: Ability to tell stories from the presented data comprehensively and in an unbiased way, with proven previous experience in authoring insights reports, blog posts and other published writing
  • Communicator: Excellent speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex insights to non-technical audiences

  • Actionable insights: Offer insight into audiences, human behaviours and market/competitive trends, enabling data and insights-driven conversations and action.
  • Innovation: Stay ahead of competitors by testing new trends, technologies, and platforms.
  • Reporting: Create reports that communicate insights and key performance indicators in engaging and easy-to-understand formats.
  • Results: Advocate within the business for the value and power of actionable insights to deliver breakthrough stories that drive better business results.
