Description:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information systems or similar.
- Min. 5 years data analysis & reporting experience
- Strong knowledge of SQL and experience in data querying, data mining, data segmentation.
- Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience in developing calculations to interpret and assess data sets to produce insight. Excellent problem solving skills.
- 2+ years experience using statistical analysis languages (R, Python, etc.).
- Good understanding of database concepts and understanding of structures required.
- Strong understanding of Business Intelligence strategies/design as it relates to Data analysis.
- Experience with one or more BI tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik.
- Financial services and ideally General Insurance experience strongly desired.
Responsibilities:
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The Ardonagh Analytics Lab is an exciting new operation established by The Ardonagh Group in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. The Analytics Lab is responsible for delivering data-driven insights to Ardonagh’s clients across the globe and helping its 10,000+ colleagues offer tailored solutions across a diverse range of insurance products and related services.
The Analytics Lab is focused entirely on improved outcomes for every participant in the value chain; forensically investigating Ardonagh’s pool of data to build an improved understanding of risk, examining possible future outcomes and working with clients and insurer partners in preparation for the unknown.
Working as key member of the Data Analytics Team, the Data Analyst will work with a variety of data sets to both respond to and deliver on requests for insights and analysis, as well as working with and interpreting the data sets to proactively design and deliver the analytical output that will drive business performance for colleagues and clients across The Group.
KEY ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Help turn data into information and information into insight.
- Using a variety of tools and query techniques, work with and interpret a variety of data sets to develop the insight that solves problems and identifies business opportunities.
- Act as the key link between the Data Engineering and Data Visualisation Teams to understand the data sources available, identify opportunities for its value & use and ensure the insights that can be derived are available for presentation and access by colleagues and clients across The Group.
- Communicate data-driven results and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Supplement and enrich automated reporting solutions with the analytical insight that leads to action and improvements in business performance.
- Help drive a culture change around the use and purpose of data to ensure actions are driven by fact based insight.
- Help define, implement and lead on robust data management and reporting processes across The Group.
- Identify and help standardise the use and governance of data.
- Design and implement methods to ensure consistent application and use of analytics for the organisation. Help turn data into information and information into insight.
