THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • As part of the CIB COO team, the Singapore Data and Analytics team (D&A) supports CIB Banking. The team is responsible for the delivery of initiatives that translate into value to the business by increasing revenue, support the identification and management of risk and save costs by increasing efficiencies.
  • This role will support one of the key pillars in the D&A team, ‘Measurement & Insights’ to deliver customised MI for CIB, provide strategic insights consulting to Singapore and support any Regional or Group led insights initiatives.
  • The role will be responsible for managing MI projects and developing data and technical requirements of MI and insights deliverables ensuring end users’ business requirements are met.
  • This is a unique role to join a high-growth and strategically important area within CIB banking and overall HSBC group and contribute to the daily lives of staff with burdensome reporting tasks
  • The successful applicant will be given exposure to a number of senior stakeholders across the Singapore business and functions, and will be given responsibility to deliver and work on a number of strategically important initiatives. They will gain experience understanding and working on the dynamics of business requirements, including cross line of business efforts
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand the key opportunities and concerns and propose/develop MI that supports the business
  • Manage and compute monthly BAU Dashboards that support the business in understanding and monitoring their portfolio to drive growth.
  • Engage with Internal teams to perform data analysis and data validation, where required, to support ad hoc initiatives (e.g. data discrepancy in reports, collaboration projects, etc.)
  • Craft data led solutions to solve short, medium and long term strategic questions
  • Review Data Visas (DV) in the capacity of CDO; challenge possible loopholes/gaps on the DV to ensure data sharing align with the Singapore Legal Basis for Data Sharing.
  • Submit monthly outsourcing attestation and engage meeting with service provider to fulfill regulatory requirement as a Third-Party Engagement Manager (TPEM) for the team’s related outsourcing agreements.
  • Partake in discussion to identify systems gaps/data flow for unreported revenues.
  • Recommend the appropriate systems and data sources aligning to trusted source framework, governance and architecture standards within CIB D&A
  • Continuously optimize existing MI and insights products to maximize business value and efficiency for stakeholders

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE ROLE:

  • Knowledge in SQL, Python, and Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Familiar with technical BA artefacts e.g. functional/non-functional requirements, data lineage etc.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience of working with different stakeholders
  • Problem-solving skills and proactively identify solutions to address various issues
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with large amount of information to meet business objectives
  • Experience in agile software development and tools such as JIRA, Confluence will be a plus
  • Experience in gathering requirements and delivering analytics, MI, or IT related projects in the financial or digital domains will be a plus
