The Role YouView has a central data and insights team, which is responsible for the end-to-end value chain for all things YouView data, from providing data instrumentation and engineering requirements, gaining behavioural insights, to building data science and experimentation capabilities. As a Data Analyst, you will act as a bridge between end users and the data engineering team, working with stakeholders to understand business needs and translating them into clear analytical outputs. You will conduct deep-dive product analysis to understand user behaviour and present insights to audiences across the organisation, adapting your communication style to varying levels of technical expertise. Through collaborating closely with engineering, you will support the transformation of raw data into accurate, accessible, well-documented and tested data models. These data models will empower key insights on how features are performing, identify, address, and resolve operational challenges and establish a single source of truth for North Star/tracking metrics. Key responsibilities Leverage event-driven data and conduct customer journey deep-dives to create actionable insights and compelling stories that influence decision-making Work closely with Product Managers and other stakeholders to collect requirements and build impactful product metrics. Design and maintain monitoring reports that track business metrics and help spot emerging trends Work in partnership with Engineering to transform the raw data into organised, usable, well-documented and tested data models Create clear, engaging documentation and reports for technical and non-technical audiences Evangelises business user adoption and data fluency, by bridging communication gaps between stakeholders across the business on how they can best leverage data reporting Mentor and guide junior colleagues Work in an Agile environment and facilitate sprint ceremonies on a rota. Essential Skills & Experience Experience working with data in an analytical role, preferably within a technology, software, or media tech company, especially in areas such as consumer behaviour and product analytics. Strong SQL and Python proficiency Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns and trends; you bring the “analysis” to data analytics! Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for making complex concepts accessible and building bridges across teams Strong attention to detail Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools, including one or more of Omni, Looker or similar Familiarity with DBT would be a bonus What Sets You Apart Natural curiosity and desire to understand the "why" behind the numbers Demonstrated ability to write easy-to-understand technical documentation Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement A strong sense of ownership and a self-starter mindset.
