Are you eager to get hands-on experience with innovative talent technology tools used by a global company? This is your chance! As a Co-op student on our Global Talent Technology & Attraction team based in Vancouver, you’ll be at the forefront of supporting multiple geographically dispersed client groups. Gain valuable experience in application configuration, deployment, data analysis, and operational support, impacting the entire employee lifecycle!
Our ideal candidate has a high level of attention to detail and can use their data analysis skills to identify areas for process optimization. Their technical background in data preparation, analysis and visualization will be instrumental in creating insightful Power BI dashboards to support our global client groups.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Proficient in Python, with experience in libraries such as pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, and seaborn for data manipulation and visualization.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL for data querying.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
- Experience in front-line customer service or technical support, with superb communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle challenges and seek guidance when needed.
- Must be enrolled in a recognized and accredited co-op program at a Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the term, available for full-time work, and willing to relocate to Vancouver, BC if currently studying outside of Metro Vancouver.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, configure, deploy, and support commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, while resolving critical application errors and incoming support tickets.
- Gather, extract and clean data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality.
- Analyze large datasets using statistical methods and data visualization tools to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Convert data-driven insights into practical business suggestions, assisting collaborators in comprehending and addressing key challenges and opportunities.
- Build visually appealing and insightful data visualizations in Power BI to communicate sophisticated data analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability by conducting regular data audits and performing validation checks.
- Continuously seek and implement improvements in data collection, analysis, and reporting to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
