POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a strategic Data and AI Architect to lead the design, governance, and implementation of enterprise-grade Data, AI, and ML platforms. This position, as part of the Enterprise Architecture Team, is central to enabling scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure and data solutions that support advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science throughout Sargent & Lundy. You will drive innovation and ensure our systems align with evolving business needs and best industry practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, information science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in data architecture and data platforms, preferably within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience in data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and requirements analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift).
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, data integration (ETL/ELT/data pipelines), and associated technology stacks.
  • Proven track record implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support systems.
  • Deep familiarity with metadata management and related processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise repository, data modeling, mapping, and profiling tools.
  • Demonstrated ability managing data and metadata migration projects.
  • A major plus for experience in analyzing, redesigning, and automating manual business processes using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools or equivalent automation platforms, driving increased operational efficiency, and reduced manual intervention.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • TOGAF 9 certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
  • Certified AI Solutions Architect (CAISA) or equivalent.

SOFT AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Excellent client/user interaction skills for detailed requirements gathering and solution delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with data processing flowcharting and visualization techniques.
  • Proven project management skills, including oversight of cross-functional teams and multi-phase projects.
  • Solid understanding of data privacy laws and best practices.
