The Data & Analytics Product Principal is the most senior individual contributor role responsible for driving enterprise-wide data strategy and execution. This position combines deep technical expertise in modern data platforms and advanced analytics with proven product leadership capabilities to architect scalable solutions that deliver measurable business value.
This role requires a seasoned professional who operates at the intersection of technology and business strategy, leading complex technical initiatives across cross-functional teams while establishing the standards and frameworks that guide organizational data practices. The successful candidate will translate strategic business requirements into robust data architectures and drive the evolution of enterprise analytics capabilities. – all in service of making our members’ health journeys easier.

What You Bring to Cambia:
Qualifications and Certifications:
- Master’s degree in business, computer science, data science, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in heavily analytical roles — ideally within data product or data analytics. Healthcare, insurance, banking, or related industry experience is preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills and Attributes (Not limited to):
- Technical Expertise: Advanced SQL query creation and optimization experience (preferably Snowflake deployment), Python for statistics and analytics, semantic layer implementation, understanding of Dimensional Modeling concepts, and PostgreSQL extensions and advanced features.
- Generative BI/AI Integration: Experience leading the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of generative AI solutions within the data & analytics ecosystem, identifying use cases for AI-powered insights, automated reporting, and enhanced data discovery and insight generation while ensuring responsible AI governance and ethical deployment practices.
- Data & Analytics: Hands-on experience with data instrumentation, ingestion, enrichment, and syndication in cloud-based ecosystems, plus expertise in data analysis, business intelligence, and data visualization (SIGMA experience a plus)
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to influence without authority, coach teams, and translate analytical insights into effective frameworks that drive high-quality business decisions
- Project Management: Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, and administering multi-functional work responsibilities with proven delivery of complex data & analytics value
- Communication & Collaboration: Ability to create clear, concise presentations and communicate effectively at all organizational levels while facilitating cross-functional planning sessions
- Partnership: Proven ability to effectively partner, collaborate with, and inspire teams, including remote employees, while negotiating and resolving complex issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness
What You Will Do at Cambia (Not limited to):
- Strategic Leadership: Represent the organization as an industry thought leader in data analytics, contributing to industry standards and best practice. Drive the vision, strategy, and delivery roadmap for enterprise data & analytics capabilities, owning the enterprise-wide data architecture strategy, end-to-end data enrichment, analytics, quality, and management execution across the product development lifecycle
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Serve as a technical mentor and advisor across the data and analytics organization, driving excellence through influence and expertise rather than direct authority. Partner with and inspire high-performing teams of Data & Analytics Product Owners, Business Systems Analysts, and Knowledge Syndication experts while guiding technical direction for contract resources on complex enterprise initiatives.
- Business Partnership: Understand company business strategies and lead interactions with business partners to identify opportunities for leveraging data & analytics to drive measurable business results, balancing business and technical objectives in prioritization decisions
- Technical Execution: Architect and own enterprise-wide data semantic frameworks that enable consistent, scalable analytics across all business units. Lead complex technical initiatives including cloud migration strategies, advanced analytics implementations, and AI-powered business intelligence solutions. Design robust data architectures that balance immediate business value with long-term platform scalability, while establishing technical standards that guide organization-wide data practices.
- Product Development: Utilize healthcare payer market knowledge to amplify data & analytics opportunities leveraging data science, engineering, warehousing, and visualization while leading the distillation of business requirements into detailed product specifications
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Build partnerships with program management, engineering, data governance, architecture, operations teams, and third-party strategic partners to manage complex product decisions through agile methodology
- Performance Management: Measure and communicate product success, analyze platform usage, drive improvements to accuracy and effectiveness, and enable migration from legacy data solutions to cloud-based platforms
- Enterprise Coordination: Look across the enterprise data & analytics landscape to drive coordinated tactical execution and sequencing that maximizes business outcomes
The expected hiring range for The Data & Analytics Product Principal is $200k-225k, depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; performance history; and work location. The bonus target for this position is 25%. The current full salary range for this position is $167k Low/ $209k MRP / $272k High
