Description

The Data and Healthcare (D&H) Coordinator will support the delivery of high-quality community healthcare through expert management of data systems and technology. Working in a hybrid model, this role ensures accurate and timely data entry into the Electronic Health Records (EHR-Athena) during clinical operations and serves as the lead resource for software platforms including Athena, Better Impact, and EXXAT. The D&H Coordinator will generate and manage monthly reports, assist in collecting and preparing data for grant submissions and compliance reporting (e.g., HRSA, UDS, foundations, VAFCC, NAFC), and provide technical support to faculty and students engaged in research and program evaluation. This will include tracking of data on students as well as clients. This position plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity, optimizing system usage, troubleshooting EMR issues, and supporting the health center’s mission through informed decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • Community Health Worker (CHW) experience. Certification of CHW highly encouraged.
  • Billing & Coding

Level and type of experience:

  • Experience with day-to-day medical clinic office operations and administrative support functions.
  • Expertise with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and coding; proficiency in AthenaOne preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and documentation (preferred).
  • Experience with medical billing and coding.
  • Experience in community healthcare setting.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service skills, empathy and understanding for an underserved population including homeless, sheltered, or rural communities. Enhances an outstanding patient care experience while maintain job duties and requirements.
  • Experience in working with healthcare teams and collaborating interprofessionally.SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Understanding of HIPAA and FERPA privacy and security regulations.
  • Ability to utilize key software platforms, including Better Impact and EXXAT.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of federal grant processes, especially related to HRSA, UDS, and foundation-funded programs
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking abilities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to delivering patient-centered care.
  • Professional in appearance, demeanor, and communication.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills; ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Self-directed, highly motivated, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
