Description
East West Hospitality’s Data and Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately entering employee data, serving as the first point of contact for inquiries related to employee maintenance, and preparing and reviewing weekly payrolls. This role also provides administrative support to the Benefits team. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritize tasks, and the confidence to solve problems independently. While following established processes is key, we are seeking someone comfortable adapting to change in a dynamic environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, HR, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant payroll or HR certification (e.g., FPC, CPP) is a plus.
    Previous experience in administrative, payroll, HR, or accounting position strongly preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • Analytical mind with strong attention to detail is a must.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and operate in multiple HRIS programs
  • Ability to grasp basic employment law (state and federal).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Comfortable working with multiple HRIS programs; excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
  • Accurately record and maintain HR employee data in HRIS (UKG Ready) using provided procedures. Employee data includes items such as new hires and rehires, status changes, salary changes, position changes, and separations.
  • Assist in handling and researching routine inquiries received through the shared payroll inbox using both internal and external knowledge.
  • Screen and edit timesheets, verifying the accuracy of data entered. Communicate with managers to correct timesheet issues.
  • Review and process weekly payrolls accurately and efficiently using provided checklists and procedures.
  • Prepare and import weekly payroll earnings and deduction files.
  • Key and process payroll-related information in the HRIS. This includes items such as scheduled earnings and deductions, tax withholding, accrual adjustments, and address changes.
  • Process checks, voids, manual checks, disability payments, historical corrections, and retro pay.
  • Maintain and audit personnel, payroll, and benefits files in compliance with federal, state, and EWH requirements.
  • Distribute and collect HR and payroll-related documents in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and weekly reporting.
  • Work closely with the Benefits Manager to provide administrative support for various benefit-related tasks, including handling leave inquiries, tracking leave, preparing benefits billing, and assisting with other benefit-related duties.
  • Maintain a high level of security and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Communicate in a timely and professional manner.

    Pay Rate: $28-$30/hour DOE
    Schedule: M-F, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm with some flexibility
