ABOUT OWNERSBOX

OwnersBox is a fantasy sports operator and technology company pushing the boundaries of interactive sports entertainment. We’re looking for a Data and Reporting Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for procuring, transforming, and delivering high-quality data from our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data warehouse to support the needs of our AI, development, and business teams. You will be a key player in turning raw data into actionable insights and scalable reporting solutions.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence roles
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation
  • Experience working with the Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Cloud Functions, and Dataflow
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and analytics best practices
  • Familiarity with Looker Studio or comparable data visualization platforms
  • Experience working with Finance and Accounting teams and supporting financial reporting
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and take initiative

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience preparing data for AI/ML pipelines or integrating with machine learning systems
  • Background in supporting product analytics or software teams
  • Familiarity with dbt, Airflow, or similar workflow orchestration tools
Responsibilities

You will serve as the bridge between engineering and business—owning our data pipelines, reports, and analytics tools to power decision-making and innovation across the company. This includes:

  • Extract and process data from GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, etc.) to support AI models, software development, and analytics workflows
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to transform raw inputs into clean, structured datasets for downstream use
  • Collaborate with the AI, engineering, and finance teams to ensure data is available, accurate, and timely
  • Develop and maintain daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for finance, management, and executive leadership
  • Create and enhance dashboards and visualizations using Looker Studio or similar BI tools
  • Translate business needs into well-defined KPIs, metrics, and reporting solutions
  • Analyze data trends and deliver insights to support product and operational strategies
  • Respond to ad hoc data requests, ensuring accuracy and actionable results
  • Ensure data governance and quality control across reports and datasets
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data access across the organization
