• This role offers hybrid working, allowing you to work either from home or from one of our offices
• 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
• 37 hours per week
• Fixed term / Secondment contract for 9 months to cover maternity

  What will I be doing?

We’re working to improve the lives of children and young people in Somerset – and you’ll be a key part of that. Your day-to-day work will involve:

• Maintaining and updating the Council’s database of early years and childcare providers
• Collecting and analysing relevant data to identify the sufficiency of education and childcare provision in Somerset
• Leading on the management of surveys of providers/parents and producing reports on the health of the childcare market in Somerset
• Producing reports and updating senior officers and cabinet members as required
• Managing project work and completing statutory consultations from the DfE or its representatives
• Leading on the process for setting the Early Years Entitlement funding rates

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

• Can work with and analyse data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Write reports in clear and concise language, paying attention to the readership
• Work independently and with colleagues within the team and in other teams
• Research and suggest improvements in data collection and analysis

The salary for the role is Grade 11, ranging from £30,296 to £33,945 per annum
