Job Title – Data Architect and Management Consultant
Location – Bristol / Edinburgh / Leeds / Dubai / Birmingham / Abu Dhabi / London / Manchester / Newcastle

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our team sits at the intersection of data techniques and the built and natural environment. We are looking for passionate individuals who are keen to find ways to use data to make a positive difference in the world around us.
In this role, you will work on the design and delivery of data management, data modelling, and data architecture projects and capabilities. You will act as a subject matter expert, consultant, and analyst, delivering innovative solutions that meet our clients’ needs. You will support and advise on business development activities relating to data projects through the development of proposals.
You will have the opportunity to define and develop ownership of a specific area of expertise within the team. You will help Arup and client teams to articulate data opportunities by building a network, attending or speaking at conferences, and contributing to thought leadership publications.

In this role, you will:

  • Work on the delivery of data management, data modelling, and data architecture projects and capabilities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, consultant, and analyst, delivering innovative solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

    • Lead, support, and advise on business development activities related to data projects by developing proposals and pitch materials.


    • Collaborate with the team to advise on and implement data management and data architecture capabilities. This includes the opportunity to define and develop ownership of a specific area of expertise within the team.

      Responsibilities

      IS THIS ROLE RIGHT FOR YOU?

      You should apply for the role if you bring:

      • Experience in designing and delivering data-related products and services for stakeholders, either within an organization or in a consultancy capacity.
      • Expertise in data management techniques such as data models, information specifications, data architectures, knowledge management, and taxonomies/ontologies.
      • An enthusiasm for the built and natural environment, with experience in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of built environment assets.
      • Strong verbal, written, visualization, and presentation skills, with the ability to adjust communication style to suit clients and other stakeholders with varied technical or commercial agendas and knowledge
      • Have a degree qualification in a subject related to engineering, computer science, data science/analytics, business, geography, or another quantitative analytical field, or equivalent work experience.
