Description
Data Architect/Data Lead (Modernization & Digital Transformation) The Opportunity Are you a seasoned Data Architect/Data Lead who thrives on untangling complex legacy systems and driving high-impact digital modernization? A global industry leader is seeking your expertise to spearhead a critical transformation project. This isn't just about maintenance; it’s about rescuing a mission-critical sales infrastructure and architecting a scalable future on the cloud. You will serve as the lead strategist, bridging the gap between a lean technical team and executive leadership to modernize a system. Key Responsibilities Strategic Architectural Assessment: Perform a comprehensive 5-day assessment of the current ERP-to-OLAP pipeline to map the end-to-end architecture. Performance Engineering: Analyze and remediate resource bottlenecks (CPU/Storage) on critical servers, specifically Server PHMAKA0007, and optimize the execution of 50+ nightly data jobs. Reporting Evolution: Evaluate technical limitations preventing the delivery of specific sales requirements through existing OLAP cubes and propose agile, scalable alternatives. Capability Gap Analysis: Conduct a "technical on the ground" analysis to identify skill gaps and optimization opportunities within the current administration team. Stakeholder Leadership: Lead focused workshops with business units and technical teams to define clear problem statements and align technical output with operational sales needs. Executive Advisory: Prepare a formal board paper for leadership outlining the modernization journey, including a logical ROI and value proposition. Requirements 1. Core Infrastructure & Cloud Architecture Azure Cloud Services: Expert-level knowledge of Azure SQL, Virtual Machines, and Azure Monitor. Infrastructure Optimization: Proven ability to troubleshoot and scale CPU, memory, and storage for underperforming cloud servers (e.g., Server PHMAKA0007). Legacy-to-Cloud Modernization: Experience managing systems transitioned from on-premise to cloud environments while maintaining legacy ERP integrations. 2. Data Engineering & Analytics Stack OLAP Cube Design & Management: Deep expertise in creating, maintaining, and optimizing OLAP cubes to meet complex business reporting requirements. High-Volume ETL/Batch Processing: Experience managing and troubleshooting heavy nightly workloads (50+ concurrent jobs) to ensure data integrity and system uptime. ERP Ecosystems: Familiarity with SYSPRO or similar legacy ERP systems used for distributor transactions and inventory data. Data Lifecycle Management: Experience implementing data archiving and "streaming down" strategies for massive historical datasets. 3. Strategic Consulting & Methodology This role requires a "T-shaped" professional, deep technical skills with a broad ability to consult. Architectural Review Frameworks: Ability to conduct end-to-end architecture assessments and technical audits. Requirement Translation: Experience leading "Focused Workshops" to translate vague sales requests into specific technical deliverables. Business Case Development: Proficiency in writing "Board Papers" that articulate technical debt in terms of ROI, Value Stream, and Business Journey.
Responsibilities
The Data Architect will lead a critical modernization project to transform legacy ERP-to-OLAP pipelines into a scalable cloud-based infrastructure. Responsibilities include performing architectural assessments, optimizing system performance, and advising executive leadership on technical strategy and ROI.
