Data Architect

Randstad Data are working alongside a Queensland Government department to find a fantastic Data Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping the data management landscape. This role is a 14 month contract initially, with a strong chance of extensions as it is a multi-year program. The role is based in Brisbane’s CBD with WFH flexibility.
The Role:
You will provide expert guidance on data governance, strategy, integration, and privacy while designing and implementing robust data architectures aligned with industry standards and organisational objectives. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow across applications and successful migration to new environments.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advice, direction, and recommendations on all aspects of data management, including data governance, strategy, integration, and privacy.
• Design data architectures and processes tailored to project and departmental needs, overseeing their implementation.
• Develop data models aligning with business entities and relationships, adhering to industry standards and departmental information models.
• Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to architect data flows across multiple applications, ensuring alignment with business objectives and successful data migration.

Necessary Skills:

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing data architectures.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in defining enterprise data models, including change management and version control.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server or equivalent relational database management systems.
• Familiarity with Information and Technologies Branch standards.
• Expertise in RESTful API integration patterns, XML, and JSON notation.
• Strong understanding of data architecture frameworks, data governance, and data security principles.
• Experience with data management, data modeling, reporting, and analytics tools.
• Proficiency in Azure Services such as Dataverse, Azure Data Lake Storage 2, Data Factory, Synapse, Azure Data Bricks, and Power BI.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Common Data Model, and integration patterns for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
