Data Architect Hybrid Contract Role (12 Months) We have partnered with a leading ecommerce business who are looking for a Data Architect, responsible for the design and implementation of the enterprise-wide data architecture strategy. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure data driving informed decision-making and operational efficiency and is important in defining and maintaining the rules and standards for collecting, integrating, using, and managing data assets across the business. This is an initial 12 month contract

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE DATA ARCHITECT.

• Strong knowledge of data modelling, data integration, and data management principles and techniques.
• Experience in data architecture, preferably within the retail or e-commerce industry.
• Experience of architecting data solutions across hybrid (cloud, on-premise) data platforms.
• Knowledge of platforms such as Azure Machine Learning, Amazon SageMaker, Databricks, and DataRobot
• Proficiency in data architecture and modelling tools such as Erwin and IBM Data Architect
• Familiarity with data warehousing technologies, ETL processes, and data integration tools and supporting technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and other products.
• Understanding of data privacy and data protection regulations, including GDPR.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data architecture strategy aligned with business goals and data-driven initiatives.
• Define the architecture principles, standards, and best practices for data collection, integration, storage, and utilisation.
• Be the SME on data infrastructure, working to understand business roadmaps and pro-actively working with all departments of the business to facilitate data changes
• Design and maintain data integration processes to enable seamless data flow across systems, including e-Commerce, point-of-sale (POS), CRM, supply chain, and marketing platforms.
• Create data management strategies, including data cataloguing, data lineage, and metadata management, to enhance data discoverability and usability.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with IT teams, data engineers, and data scientists to understand data requirements and ensure data architecture supports analytical and operational needs.
• Communicate data architecture principles and standards to stakeholders across the organization, fostering a shared understanding of data’s importance.
• Monitor and optimize data architecture performance to ensure data is accessible, scalable, and meets the evolving needs of the business.
• Troubleshoot architecture issues and implement performance improvements in collaboration with the technical team.
