Description
This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Min Experience: 8 years JobType: full-time We are looking for a highly experienced Data Architect / Oracle Data Engineer to design, build, and govern scalable data platforms supporting complex investment and asset management operations. This role is critical in enabling accurate, timely, and high-quality data for portfolios, holdings, securities, trades, and fund accounting across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Oracle-based data ecosystems, strong PL/SQL and stored procedure development, and modern data processing skills using Python and PySpark. You will work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering leaders to translate financial data requirements into robust, future-ready data architectures. Key Responsibilities Design and own enterprise data architecture for investment management and asset management platforms, ensuring scalability, performance, and data integrity. Lead data modeling efforts for securities, holdings, trades, positions, pricing, corporate actions, and fund accounting datasets. Architect and develop high-performance Oracle data solutions, including advanced PL/SQL, stored procedures, and optimization strategies. Build and manage data pipelines using Python and PySpark for large-scale batch and analytical processing. Define and enforce data standards, governance, lineage, and quality controls across critical financial datasets. Partner with investment operations, fund accounting, risk, and reporting teams to understand data usage and analytical needs. Support downstream consumers including reporting, regulatory, analytics, and portfolio management systems. Drive modernization initiatives by integrating traditional Oracle platforms with distributed processing and cloud-ready architectures where applicable. Provide technical leadership, mentoring data engineers and reviewing design and implementation best practices. Required Skills & Experience 8–20 years of experience as a Data Architect or Oracle Data Engineer, preferably within financial services. Strong hands-on expertise in Oracle databases, PL/SQL, and complex stored procedures. Proven experience with Python and/or PySpark for data engineering and transformation workflows. Deep domain knowledge of Investment Management, Asset Management, Fund Accounting, or related financial data domains. Strong understanding of financial instruments, including securities, trades, holdings, positions, and transactions. Experience designing enterprise-scale data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytical data stores. Ability to work with large, complex, and highly regulated datasets with strict accuracy requirements. Nice to Have Exposure to cloud data platforms or hybrid architectures. Experience supporting regulatory, performance, or risk reporting systems. Prior leadership or solution-ownership experience in large data programs.
