Description
The Vanguard 2.2.1 contract is seeking a Data Architecture Analyst to support the Data Analytics and Assessment Team (DAA) within the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology at the Department of State. The DAA team is looking for a highly motivated professional with expertise in data architecture, evaluation, and analysis. Responsibilities: Summary: Acquires data from diverse sources and maintains databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to support Department mission requirements. Develops and implements scalable data collection systems, ensuring data is organized, normalized, and accurate to enable reliable analysis, reporting, and decision-making. Duties: Develops and maintains conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with agency enterprise architecture and mission needs. Documents data flows, interfaces, and system relationships to support integration, interoperability, and modernization efforts. Performs data governance activities, including metadata management, data standards, and data quality assessments. Collaborate with system owners, program teams, and security staff to ensure data architecture complies with federal policies, privacy, and security requirements. Contributes to cloud and shared services initiatives by identifying opportunities for data reuse, consolidation, and improved accessibility. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; may accept additional equivalent experience in lieu of degree. 14+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems analysis, or a related discipline. Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF, FEAF, Zachman). Familiarity with business process modeling, requirements gathering, and systems integration. Understanding of IT infrastructure, software development life cycles, and cloud technologies. Knowledge of data management, cybersecurity principles, and interoperability standards. Familiarity with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and related security compliance requirements. Proficiency with architecture modeling tools (e.g., Sparx EA, Visio, ArchiMate). Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, briefings, and presentations. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Required Clearance: US Citizenship. Ability to obtain a top secret clearance. Must obtain an interim secret/top secret clearance prior to starting work. Preferred: Prior government experience Security certifications (e.g., CISSP)
