Data Migration Business Analyst (Pensions)

Contract | Outside IR35 | Immediate Start

We're looking for an experienced Data Migration Business Analyst to support a pensions data migration project, helping to ensure high-quality data is migrated from a legacy platform into a strategic target system.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong data analysis and stakeholder engagement skills, ideally gained within pensions or financial services.

Location

  • Manchester - Hybrid working with a minimum of 1 day per week on-site (more as required)

Contract

  • Outside IR35
  • Initial 3-month contract

The Role

Working closely with IT and Pension Administration teams, you'll analyse legacy data, identify data quality issues and gaps, and support the remediation required to enable a successful migration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review data extracts from legacy systems to identify and document data quality issues.
  • Analyse data anomalies such as invalid National Insurance number formats, incorrect field values and missing information.
  • Work alongside the IT Development Manager to identify data gaps between the legacy and strategic systems.
  • Engage with Pension Administration teams to understand the business context behind data requiring remediation.
  • Document findings, data issues and recommendations to support migration activities.
  • Help improve the quality and completeness of data prior to loading into the target platform.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst on data migration or transformation projects.
  • Strong data analysis and data quality assessment skills.
  • Experience identifying and documenting data issues, gaps and remediation requirements.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience within Pensions, Life & Pensions or Financial Services.
  • Previous involvement in legacy system migrations or platform transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of pensions administration data and member records.
