OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structured cabling, with the ability to maintain and troubleshoot equipment effectively. This role requires excellent customer service skills, as well as the capability to supervise and lead projects when necessary. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in maintenance and repair.
  • Proficient in electrical systems, including logic controllers.
  • Ability to read and understand technical schematics.
  • Interpret detailed project plans to construct and fix network equipment cabinets, prepare cable pathways, and install cable support and containment systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members.
  • Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills in English.
  • Experience with welding techniques is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair various mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Supervise junior technicians and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Troubleshoot issues with logic controllers and other automated systems.
  • Read and interpret schematics to diagnose problems accurately.
  • Weld components as needed to ensure structural integrity.
  • Understand the basic elements of IT network architecture, including the range of cable types and networking equipment.
  • Understand the test parameters for copper and fibre cable certification in accordance with appropriate industry standards e.g., BSEN 50346 – Information Technology-Testing of Installed Cables, the routine for test equipment service and calibration.
  • Possess an understanding of Access Control installation standards including break glass units, sounder beacons and maglocks, plus CCTV installation and configuration.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client concerns promptly.
  • Document maintenance activities and report on equipment performance.
