WHO ARE WE?
Equinix is the world’s digital infrastructure company®, operating over 260 data centers across the globe. Digital leaders harness Equinix’s trusted platform to bring together and interconnect foundational infrastructure at software speed. Equinix enables organizations to access all the right places, partners and possibilities to scale with agility, speed the launch of digital services, deliver world-class experiences and multiply their value, while supporting their sustainability goals.
Joining our operations team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers. We embrace diversity in thought and contribution and are committed to providing an equitable work environment that is foundational to our core values as a company and is vital to our success.
At Equinix our Critical Facilities Engineers operate, manage, maintain and repair critical and non-critical Power systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire control and suppression, and all site services, and performs all related vendor support in a mission critical environment. Due to an internal move (employee promoted to different site within the business), we have a fast-paced role supporting the overall functioning of our SY6 Data Center based at Silverwater focusing on maintaining and improving the facility’s critical infrastructure. This includes all regularly scheduled maintenance and ad hoc repairs/troubleshooting.
The role will suit candidates with an engineering mindset looking to build or continue a career within the industry. This is not a senior role, so training and development will be available to the selected candidate but an understanding of UPS, ATS generators, chillers, AHU, CRAC and CRAC units and similar critical infrastructure will be highly advantageous.
Mission critical, commercial, or industrial experience is preferred particularly within a hands-on service role, and the position will initially have a large focus on fire and security systems, whilst you develop experience and confidence with all electrical and mechanical site infrastructure over time. We have a diverse team from different engineering backgrounds who work across streams (electrical/mechanical/controls) in a collaborative atmosphere, so teamwork and a positive attitude are a must.
Strong vendor management and administration skills and experience will be required, and we are looking to interview immediately for the role.
