Job summary As an Intermediate Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day data center operations, ensuring minimal downtime of data center equipment and play an active role in maintaining business-critical data servers, network and physical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will also include leading technical projects on behalf of your team and or other initiatives. Job Summary As an Intermediate Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day data center operations; ensuring minimal downtime of data center equipment; as well as playing an active role in maintaining its mission-critical data servers, network and physical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will also include leading technical projects on behalf of your team and/or other initiatives. Education, Qualifications and Experience Formal Education Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for Computer Science, Engineering or other technical degree. Professional Certifications CompTIA would be desirable. Primary areas of responsibility will include: Serve as a routine point of contact for data center operations, handling service requests, performing initial investigation, resolving standard issues, and escalating when required. Install, remove, provision, configure, and maintain data center hardware, software, infrastructure, and network components, ensuring all changes are accurately documented. Monitor application, infrastructure, as well as network performance, capacity, and security events; identify and report operational issues. Perform scheduled system, application, network, and infrastructure maintenance tasks, including backup and restore activities, using established tools and procedures. Troubleshoot application, system, and network issues using defined methodologies and tools. Maintain rack diagrams, equipment inventories, and physical location documentation. Respond to routine security and access requests, document actions taken, and assist with investigations as needed. Follow change management and operational procedures when implementing approved changes. Use data center management tools to monitor power, cooling, and space utilization; assist with related issue resolution. Contribute to the creation and upkeep of operational documentation, standards, and procedures. Assist with hardware installation and racking, including use of lifting equipment. Work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to support service delivery. Experience: 4-7 years experience in data center operations, preferably in a media-related industry. Experience and working knowledge of IT facilities management systems and tools. Experience with enterprise class workstations and end user compute platforms. Proficiency in Linux, preferably Rocky Linux or CentOS. Working knowledge of diagramming software (Autocad, Visio). Knowledge of configuration systems, such as IDRAC, IPMI, Puppet, and Foreman. Knowledge of enterprise class monitoring systems like Zabbix, PagertDuty and Dell OpenManage. Experience with on-call support for off hours data center escalations. Other: You possess a detail-oriented mindset with the ability to execute repetitive tasks efficiently. You possess a proactive mindset with the ability to plan and complete tasks with minimal direction. You possess excellent written and spoken technical English. You are a true team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You are result-oriented with a history of consistently meeting deadlines. Location and Work Model This is an On-site role in our Quincy, WA datacenter The anticipated base salary for this position is $44.95 to $55.29/hr. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits per company policy: including healthcare, 401(k), sick and vacation leave, standard increases as applicable. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
