Description

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in GPU or CPU power architecture
  • Familiarity with ASIC/SoC Design cycles and methodologies including RTL, Verification, Emulation, Physical Design and post-Si validation
  • Fluent familiarity with embedded microcontrollers and firmware, datacenter and compute software stacks
  • Principal Engineer level experience working with high-powered senior engineering teams driving critical initiatives and projects
  • Collaboration with cross-functional, cross-geography technical teams to deliver industry leading performance and power efficiency in Compute SoC products
  • Familiarity with ML/AI models and architectures and their power behaviors is a bonus
  • Fundamental knowledge of and hands on experience with building ML based solutions is a strong bonus

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related

THE ROLE:

AMD’s Datacenter Performance Group is seeking a talented Power Management Architect to drive the Power Constrained Performance of our industry-leading AI/ML/HPC GPUs. As DC-GPU Power Management Architect, you will be responsible for the ideation, architecture, specification, and guiding the enablement and tuning of Power Management features implemented in HW, FW and SW. You will also do hands-on work building prototypes and models, data analysis and workload optimization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a deep understanding of DC-GPU system architecture, workloads and performance challenges, and participate in solving problems with innovative power management features
  • Own the development of PM features from concept through product launch for families of DC-GPUs
  • Work cross functionally with Software, Firmware, SoC, IP, Platform, Silicon Technology, and Product teams through every stage of product development, lead leadership forums and drive successful enablement, tuning and productization of PM features
  • Analyze power/performance logs to validate efficacy of PM features, find new opportunities, spawning further refinement of features or inventing new ones
