Job Title: Data Center Technician
Location: Chicago, IL
Duration: Long term contract through 2032

Compensation: $35-39/hr
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join our team at our large colocation hosting facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center operations, including hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as well as an understanding of network infrastructure. This role requires a proactive individual who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of data center uptime and availability.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
· 2+ years of experience in a data center or IT support role, preferably in a colocation environment.
· Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
· Experience with server hardware, operating systems, and networking technologies.
· Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements related to data center operations.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are a plus.
· US Citizen, able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance

· Install, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networking hardware, and other data center equipment.
· Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on data center infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
· Monitor systems to detect issues proactively and respond to alerts to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
· Assist with capacity planning and the implementation of new equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
· Ensure compliance with all data center policies and procedures, including security protocols and disaster recovery plans.
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors on equipment installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
· Document all maintenance, repair, and service activities in detail.
· Provide technical support and guidance to clients as needed.
· Participate in a 24.7.365 Shift schedule.
