Position Summary This role will work a 6 PM to 6 AM, 7 days on and 7 days off shift. The Data Center Operators are a tier 1, 24X7 operations team. They monitor, identify, troubleshoot and escalate customer-facing issues within the Data Center escalation structure for servers, databases, and applications. The team consists of entry level operators, who may progress to become a Data Center Technician. (Tier-2) and higher. The Data Center Operator utilizes scripts, monitoring systems, and written procedures to run the day to day operation of lottery systems. These operations include compiling and printing system status reports, processing draws, and nightly processing. Essential Job Functions: Operates and monitors Windows Server and Linux based systems using established procedures. Monitors systems in production and reports problems. Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve incidents. Utilizes incident management ticketing systems to report and document issues. Performs notification and escalation for major issues and critical events. Completes shift check lists and status reports as required. Performs basic networking troubleshooting. Performs system processing utilizing established tools and procedures. Respond to inquiries and requests for assistance from Lottery customers Position Requirements: High school diploma (or equivalent). 1-2 years’ work or study in a computer related field. Required Experience: Basic Windows operating systems. Basic networking concepts. Microsoft Office suite. Preferred Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a computer related position. Data Center or Network Operations Center experience. Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems. Familiar with MS SQL Server and/or MySQL databases. The ability and desire to troubleshoot these items is highly desired. Familiar with ticketing systems. Must be able to obtain required regulatory gaming cards and licensing upon employment. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Good communication skills, both oral and written. Interpersonal skills in a team environment managing stressful situations. Have the ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers and team members. Have the ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. Accurately follows written processes and procedures. Works well independently and as a member of a team. Works well under general supervision. Qualifications Education Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
