Responsibilities

KEYS TASKS

  • Interacte & operate electrical & electronic systems within the Data Centre in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including Electrical isolations/operations). Having due regard to business risk and energy use.
  • Making recommendations for improvement and providing concise technical reports when required.
  • Working closely with the Data Centre Day & Shift teams to ensure all Specialist Sub Contractors’ are conducting works in line with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), methods of Procedures (MOPs), Permit to Works (PTW) and client change requests.
  • To provide backup as engineering relief/cover in the event of annual leave, training or other absences within the engineering and Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) teams. Interact and assist with maintaining systems including air conditioning systems, DFUs, FCUs, AHUs, ACUs and other systems such as but not limited to lighting control systems, emergency lighting, and single-phase and three-phase motors whilst accurately reporting all completed work orders, including precise recording of any critical spares/stock items used during these tasks. Working alongside the ICT engineers you will be participating in the rebooting of servers, routers or other IT-related equipment, observing, describing & reporting on indicator lights or display information, physically moving equipment within our clients and customers’ spaces including tape/media rotation, investigating power issues in an equipment rack, cabling installation with repair and replacement of end connectors, cable patching, circuit acceptance testing and fault finding.
  • Actively participate in weekly team meetings, and client meetings, in conjunction with CBRE management. Working with QHSE compliance activities, such as hazard, near-miss & observation reporting, e-learning and regular Toolbox Talks.
  • Evaluate and escalate any potential risks, with an assessment of impact, probable causes and mitigation opportunities and actively contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with relevant QHSE policy and procedures.
  • To learn and understand our client’s permitting system (training will be provided where required), operate, and eventually take part in the administration of the Permit to Work (PTW) processes & systems.
