Description Job Type Temporary Description The incumbent is to provide professional installation services within a data center environment. This requires a strong understanding of rack elevations, cable cut sheets, and accessories required for hardware assembly. Device technologies will include unified storage, GPU Direct RDMA, standard and high-speed switching, along with high-performance compute platforms. Collaborate with assigned teams on installation services and problem-solving. Provide clear and professional communication with on-site supervisors and escalate issues through proper communication channels. Candidates must possess the following capabilities: Ability to work with various rail types, mounting hardware, and support fixtures. Must be able to identify rack locations and rack units for device placement. Understand the importance of hot and cold aisles with usage of blanking panels. Maintain strict adherence to specific data center protocol. Critical thinking skills for evaluation of device placement and hardware operation. Ability to conduct hardware green light check and configure out-of-band management. Basic hardware troubleshooting capabilities to identify power or components preventing POST. Must be familiar with low-voltage cabling, coaxial and twinaxial cable, speed rating, and connector types. Ability to run and properly dress inter-rack, intra-rack, and cable tray cabling with usage of cable management apparatus. Ability to take directions on the work that needs to be done and how it needs to be done. Attention to detail to implement directions explicitly as it pertains to cable labeling, port maps, and running a high volume of specific cables between ports. Comfortable remaining oriented in large data centers. Experience working with different vendors' rail kits which have specific left, right, front, and back orientations. Ability to move efficiently without rushing or compromising care. Utmost care in handling expensive equipment, some with delicate components. Ability to move hardware weighing at least 50 lbs, with the endurance to do so repetitively when necessary. Ability to safely navigate tasks on a ladder. Basic operating system knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, and hypervisor environments is a plus. #EES25 Requirements Requirements Job requirements: Work experience must include 3–5 years supporting installation of infrastructure within a data center environment or similar. Ability to lift a minimum of 55 lbs. Basic DC toolkit containing the following items: Flathead and Phillips screwdrivers – multiple sizes Utility knife Standard scissors or electrician's scissors Long nose pliers ANSI rated cut-proof gloves CompTIA Server+ and Network+ certification or equivalent preferred. Jeans or work pants with a collared shirt and closed-toe shoes. No hats, shorts, T-shirts, or open-toed footwear allowed. Flexibility to travel and work a rotating schedule.
