REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, law, data management or information technology.
  • 0-2 years’ corporate work experience, including work experience placements (internships, casual or part-time roles) in a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of data management or privacy concepts desirable.
  • Understanding of data and privacy related legislative requirements, such as the Privacy Act.
  • An enquiring mind who enjoys problem solving and analysis.
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.

Data Owners, to help them meet their data accountabilities, including:

  • maintaining Data Management Plans for critical data, to ensure it is properly managed through the data-lifecycle

As a Data Compliance Analyst you will provide support to:

  • EDRA ( Enterprise Data Reporting & Analytics ) team
  • Data Compliance and Privacy Manager
  • Data Owner

RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Data, Reporting and Analytics (‘EDRA’) team :

  • contributing to the delivery of BDO’s Data Strategy and Roadmap,
  • building a positive, data driven culture across the firm, and collaborating with other data-roles including Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Custodians,
  • supporting the preparation of data and privacy reports for Boards, Committees and Management Groups,
  • supporting the delivery data and privacy training and communications to increase data literacy.

Data Compliance and Privacy Manager :

  • implementing and maintaining data management and privacy policies, standards, procedures, templates, tools and training.
  • providing day-to-day support and direction to stakeholders regarding data compliance and privacy requirements, obligations, processes, controls, questionnaires, and Data and Privacy Impact Assessments,
  • supporting research into data and privacy compliance obligations (legislative, regulatory and contractual),
  • supporting data retention and destruction activities, including maintaining the enterprise data retention and destruction (‘R&D’) schedule,
  • supporting data compliance issue investigations (e.g. data privacy breach, retention and destruction issues).
  • supporting delivery of transformational data and privacy projects.
