Job title: Data Domain Architect (Edgewing)
Location: Reading area. The role could be contracted to any BAE Systems site (preferably Frimley) but on commencement will immediately be assigned to our Edgewing JV in the Reading area. A financial support package may be available to enable this assignment if required, dependent on certain criteria being met. Due to the nature of this assignment, we envisage there will be a need for mostly on site working, however, flexible working arrangements may be possible – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this role.
Salary: £61,900-£79,100 Dependent of skills and experience

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Proven experience in designing and managing data storage, as well as developing and auditing data archiving policies
  • Experience in designing and building data models, including entity-relationship (ER) diagrams and data normalisation techniques

Desirable

  • Knowledge of database technologies including RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server), NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra), and data warehouse solutions
  • Understanding of ETL processes, including data extraction, transformation, and loading
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), and related certifications are preferred
  • Professional membership of STEM-related independent organisations, e.g., Institute of Engineering Technology, Royal Academy of Engineering, etc
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain clear, reliable data models that support consistent, accurate information across the organisation
  • Shape and deliver scalable data architecture that improves how data is shared and stored, aligned to the organisation’s goals
  • Guide database and data integration work, using ETL tools and database systems to ensure quality and ease of access
  • Support and guide the data architecture team, encouraging collaboration, learning and shared success
