The service comes with unlimited photo storage for Prime members and apps are available on iOS, Android, Web, Desktop, Fire Tablet & Fire TV. The service is also integrated into Alexa devices such as Echo Show and Echo Spot. Amazon Photos is the latest digital offering to consumers released on the heels of the Amazon Music and Amazon Video offerings. What you will do? As a Data Engineer on our team, you’ll work with latest and greatest technologies and complex data environments with petabyte scale. You’ll be responsible for enhancing our existing data architecture to further standardize metrics and definitions, developing end-to-end data engineering solutions for complex analytical problems. You should have excellent business and communication skills to be able to work with business analysts and engineers to determine how best to design the data warehouse for reporting and analytics.
This role requires you to live at the intersection of data, software, and science. We leverage a comprehensive suite of AWS technologies, with key tools including S3, Redshift, , EMR, Glue, Iceberg, SageMaker, Athena etc. You will drive the development process from design to release.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create scalable data models for effective data processing, storage, retrieval, and archiving.
  • Manage data ingestion from heterogeneous data sources, with automated data quality checks.
  • Develop and manage ETLs to source data from various systems and create unified data model for analytics and reporting.
  • Manage numerous requests concurrently and strategically, prioritizing when necessary.
  • Partner/collaborate across teams/roles to deliver results.
  • Design, implement, and support data warehouse/ data lake infrastructure using AWS bigdata stack, Python/Scala, Redshift, QuickSight, Glue/lake formation, EMR/Spark, Athena etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)
  • Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.
  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Bachelor’s degree

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
