DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our team to leverage the potential of artificial intelligence in Apple's cameras. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with data collection/annotation teams, ML researchers, and camera feature teams to integrate models, design data pipelines, and shape the data requirements for next-generation camera intelligence features. An ideal candidate should possess experience with modern machine learning workflows, a solid grasp of deep learning and the data requirements of modern network architectures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams including data collection/annotation, ML researchers, and camera feature teams. Strong programming skills in Python with hands-on experience with Dask for distributed data processing Familiarity with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and modern deep learning architectures Understanding of imaging fundamentals: raw sensor data, ISP outputs, color spaces, and image quality metrics. Ability to work independently and resolve infrastructure challenges with minimal support. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with relevant experience in data engineering and computer vision/imaging domains. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Deep understanding of concurrency, parallelism, and working with S3-like object storage systems Experience with efficient data storage formats for ML workflows (LMDB, HDF5, Parquet, or similar) Experience building ETL pipelines for image/video datasets and ML training workflows.
