About Us

The Kroschke Group has specialized in vehicle registration services for over 65 years. In addition to license plate production and vehicle registration, we also offer supplementary services such as vehicle transport and secure document storage. These services are supported by our own smart IT solutions. With headquarters in Ahrensburg and a nationwide network of branches, we offer a unique range of services.

Our clients range from private individuals to companies such as car dealerships, leasing firms, and insurance companies. Our team includes a diverse range of personalities, from sales staff to highly specialized IT developers.

You move a lot

Your role with us: As a Data Engineer, you will develop and operate the technical foundation of our data platform together with our team. You will be involved in the entire data lifecycle – from integrating source data and modeling in the enterprise data warehouse to providing high-quality data for business units, self-service analytics, and AI applications. You will work closely with product owners, data stewards, and business units, and actively contribute your ideas to the further development of our platform.

  • You will continuously develop our Enterprise Data Platform based on the Data Vault methodology.
  • You model Raw Vault, Business Vault, and Access Layer using the Datavault Builder.
  • You develop high-performance business logic and transformations primarily using SQL.
  • You design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • You integrate data from SAP, Salesforce, Kafka and other enterprise systems.
  • You provide high-performance data models for reporting, self-service BI, and Metabase.
  • You will develop meaningful data models and dashboards together with the specialist departments.
  • You monitor the operation, performance, and technical data quality of our platform.
  • You will work with Git and Azure DevOps on a modern deployment and CI/CD strategy.
  • You document data models and data flows in Open Metadata.
  • You create the data basis for Generative AI, RAG solutions and intelligent assistance systems.

Our Data Platform: Our data platform is based on a modern Data Vault architecture and is fully containerized. We rely on Datavault Builder, PostgreSQL, Docker, Git, and Azure DevOps for development and deployment. Open Metadata supports our data governance, and Metabase serves as a platform for reporting and self-service analytics. At the same time, we are continuously developing the platform to provide a reliable data foundation for analytics, automation, and generative AI.

This is what you bring to the team

  • Several years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Warehouse Engineer or in a comparable role
  • Excellent SQL skills and experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with enterprise data modeling, preferably Data Vault
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data integration
  • Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and modern deployment processes
  • Enjoyment in developing technical solutions together with specialist departments.
  • Analytical thinking, structured work methods, and a high degree of personal responsibility.
  • Ideally, experience with Datavault Builder, Docker, Metabase, Open Metadata, SAP (Theobald Extract), Kafka or Trino
  • Interest in modern topics such as DataOps, Generative AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
