Description

You will:Build and maintain data pipelines from ingestion through to storage
Take end-to-end ownership of pipeline components
Model data using data lake and warehouse concepts, and contribute to performance improvements (partitioning, file formats, tuning)
Apply data governance and security practices in your work (least-privilege IAM, encryption, PII handling)
Support the team with data quality, coding consistency and data availability
Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into working data solutions
Identify, formulate, and propose improvements to your own and your team’s practices
The Next Moonfarian:2–4 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines in production
Strong Python and advanced SQL skills
Basic Scala experience, or a willingness to pick it up
- If not, excellent domain of Java or C#
Familiarity with DBT (models, tests, documentation)
Solid working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud provider
Experience with relational databases and data warehouses
Confident in Git, CI/CD, and modern deployment practices
Practical experience with Docker
Solution-oriented, strong attention to detail, and open to feedback and mentorship
Nice to have:
- Experience with Apache Spark or a similar distributed processing framework
- Working knowledge of K8
- Bash scripting
- Flyway or similar SQL migration tools
