We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help us strengthen the data foundations that power decision-making across First Bus.
You’ll work as part of our central Data & Analytics team, building robust pipelines and models that support reporting, analytics, and data science use cases. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of engineering experience who enjoys collaborating with others and wants to make an impact by improving how data flows across a complex organisation.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Build and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SQL
• Create clean, well-structured datasets that support business reporting and analysis (e.g. fact/dimension models)
• Help modernise and maintain our data warehouse
• Work with analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into reliable data models
• Monitor pipeline performance and investigate failed loads or data quality issues
• Support efforts to improve governance – e.g. documenting pipelines, applying naming conventions, and ensuring consistency across tables
• Collaborate closely with the wider D&A team to align on standards and delivery priorities
