Job Description About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028. The Opportunity We have a fantastic, 3-month fixed term opportunity for a Data Engineer to join our team to deliver a project focused on enabling quantity measurement for corridor delivery work. The role involves setting up geospatial datasets for corridor landscape and land package assets to support programming and measurement of work quantities. During project downtime, the role may extend to investigating truck sensor mechanisms to measure productivity (linear meters completed) and exploring GPS-based activity tracking for non-plant corridor activities. What you will be doing: The day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include: Developing and completing geospatial datasets in ArcGIS. Integrating datasets into ASM’s Wrike Project Management system for cyclic planning Consulting with relevant teams to test and validate dataset usability Ensuring datasets are reportable and usable for the Corridor Asset Management Team. Supporting the development of sensor-based data capture systems for spray and sweep Trucks. Supporting the development of GPS-based activity tracking for non-plant corridor activities. About You: Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills: Strong communication skills (written and spoken English). Intermediate computing skills, particularly in MS Excel and data management. Experience in data processing and information management. Proven time management and organisational ability. Knowledge of civil engineering or roading maintenance. Experience with mechatronics or dynamic sensor systems. Responsibilities
