The Role

• Design and operate data pipelines for ifap DataServices, transforming curated pharmaceutical, prescription, and clinical reference data into reliable, current, and performant queryable datasets for SaaS products and partners.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines in Python with FastAPI services, as well as Apache Spark/Scala workloads, focusing on data quality, lineage, observability, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, AI Engineers, and Architects to design data products that enable new AI-native features and partner integrations.
• Utilize Claude Code and AI Agents to significantly accelerate the development of pipelines, schema migrations, and analyses, and build reusable data engineering skills and workflows with the team.
• Implement rigorous engineering standards in the data world: automated tests, CI/CD, observability, stringent schema management, and clear ownership of pipelines and services.

What You'll Need

• Several years of senior-level experience in Data Engineering with Python and a proven track record in operating productive data pipelines in regulated or business-critical environments.
• Completed degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field with excellent academic performance.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with at least one modern data stack (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Spark/PySpark, Kafka) and cloud data platforms – ideally AWS – including Infrastructure-as-Code with Terraform and GitOps/ArgoCD; proficient in version control, testing, and monitoring.
• Demonstrated effective use of AI in software and data engineering, ideally with Claude Code or similar agentic tools (Agents, Skills, Workflows), and experience in designing AI pipelines, harnesses, and context engineering.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken), strong problem-solving skills, enthusiasm for innovation, high proactivity, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with healthcare purpose and patient safety responsibilities.
