Description

the foundation for sound, data-driven decisions and seamless processes across all business units (Festival, Podstars, Reviews, Education, Jobs). We see ourselves as a strong business partner: We build bridges between complex data structures, smart automation, and real business impact.

Are you looking for maximum freedom in an entrepreneurial environment? Do you love building data pipelines that simply work and infrastructure that everyone can rely on? Then join our team and take responsibility for the technical foundation of our data platform. With us, you won't just be running pipelines: You'll be building the data infrastructure on which the entire OMR universe bases its decisions!

Where you can really make a difference

  • You are responsible for our ELT pipeline infrastructure, developing, operating and monitoring our airflow DAGs on Cloud Composer and managing our connector landscape (Airbyte, Fivetran).
  • You build your own airflow operators for data sources without a standard connector and connect new sources to our data warehouse (currently over 28 external systems).
  • You will operate and optimize our BigQuery infrastructure, from performance tuning to partitioning and clustering, monitoring query costs, and clean schema management in the Raw Zone.
  • You ensure data reliability, expand monitoring and alerting, maintain source freshness checks, and detect pipeline failures before the business units feel them.
  • You will further develop our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for Ingestion and dbt and actively participate in code reviews.
  • You lay the infrastructural foundation for our strategic data projects, such as building our central audience data platform, and contribute your ideas on architecture and tooling.

What makes you stand out

  • You have several years of professional experience in data engineering and have already been responsible for ELT/ETL pipelines and data orchestration in a production environment.
  • You are proficient in Python and SQL and have solid experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer.
  • You are familiar with BigQuery (performance, costs, permissions) and have a basic understanding of GCP (IAM, Cloud Storage, ideally Workload Identity Federation).
  • Ideally, you have already worked with dbt, Fivetran or Airbyte and are familiar with tools like Docker, Terraform or Cloud Monitoring.
  • You act proactively, work in a structured manner, and are eager to take full responsibility for a business-critical infrastructure.
  • You have fluent German skills and good written and spoken English skills.
