JOB SUMMARY

The Data Engineer I has development and support responsibility for our business-critical data. In addition, this position is responsible for implementing the established data architecture, relying on experience and good judgement to design solutions that expand our solid foundation. Work directly with our Database Architect and Engineer to design and build an innovative analytics solution that will drive our business. Work with data analysts and teams to ensure high quality in data and to ensure delivery of successful product(s). Use industry leading tools to develop and manage our next generation Data Warehouse.

PRIMARY SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2-4 years professional experience developing and supporting high performing ETL processes, including data quality and testing processes required.
  • 2-4 years professional experience designing and developing enterprise data solutions and integrations, data warehouse, data modeling (star schema, etc) required.
  • Knowledge of database management and data warehousing required.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Azure Data Factory, and other Azure technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge in data standard formats including but not limited to Acord, DTCC, DST, DAZL, etc. a preferred.
  • Knowledge in Business Intelligence tool PowerBI, Tableau, or equivalent a preferred.
  • Familiarity in supporting Wealth platforms including Black Diamond, Pershing, Charles Schwab, Salentica, Nexus a preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in analytics, statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Perform ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and develop data pipelines that integrate data sets from source systems and third-party data structures into a consumable and accessible format for analysis and reporting with a mind toward accuracy, scalability, and high performance.
  • Support the Data Warehouse by responding to process failures, data anomalies and performance events by taking appropriate measures to reduce system downtime and eliminate recurrence of problems.
  • Adhere to data security requirements and solutions: ensure that data (both on-premises and in the cloud) is treated as a protected asset.
  • Performs thorough testing of data pipelines and data models to ensure data is accurate and pipelines are resilient and self-healing.
  • Modify existing reports and/or develop new reports by analyzing databases, data sources and data structures, delivering critical reporting to customers both internally and externally.
