ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in data analysis engagements, including providing suitable solution to address bank’s risk
  • Collaborate with business lines and other stakeholders to enhance Internal Audit’s and the Bank’s data analysis practices and adoption
  • Identify, acquire and use large volumes of data to provide incremental business value through creation of new models and algorithms that help the Internal Audit group execute Audits more efficiently and allow management to identify emerging risks
  • Develop innovative solutions and create products that provide business value and improve customer experience
  • Develop and enhance visual dashboards to enable data-based Continuous Monitoring throughout Audit
  • Work with large datasets and distributed computing tools for analysis, data mining and modeling
  • Prepare detailed documentation to outline data sources, models and algorithms used and developed, as well as results obtained
  • Develop and deliver peer-to-peer training and knowledge-sharing
  • Maintains stakeholder relationships to successfully carry out audit activities.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Meets Department training requirements.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • University/Post secondary degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
  • At least 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Ability to work in high levels of ambiguity and in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency in the use of data analytic or visualization tools.
  • Ability to execute multiple projects at any given time.
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Curiosity mindset.

Responsibilities

The Bank’s Internal Audit Department plays a key role in the risk management process of the Bank. Our mandate is to provide independent and objective assurance over the design and operation of the Bank’s internal controls and to advise senior management on improvements to the Bank’s operations.
The role of the Data Engineer within Internal Audit is to play a technical role to design and implement an analytical framework that will help Audit Executives to identify emerging risks, support Auditors in audit execution, and work with other team members to improve analytics capabilities.
The ideal candidate will have solid technical knowledge and experience in analytics and data acquisition, and will have the ability to deliver data analytics solutions for continuous auditing for various Audits.
