JOB SUMMARY

Keyrus is looking for a Data Engineer with a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions. The ideal candidate demonstrates critical thinking, ownership, and a consulting-oriented mindset.
This position is Hybrid in Lisbon.

NICE TO HAVE (PREFERRED SKILLS)

Experience with on-premises tools: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
Familiarity with other Azure services: Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Key Vault, Log Analytics
Proficiency in Power BI, including semantic modelling and DAX
Exposure to other data platforms: Snowflake, DBT, other cloud providers
Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices for data workflows
Experience in technical requirements analysis and solution design
Data modelling and visualisation beyond core engineering responsibilities

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure and efficient data pipelines using: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and/or Azure SQL
  • Develop and optimise SQL processes, including functions and stored procedures
  • Build and orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to ensure data quality and consistency
  • Implement BI data modeling solutions to support analytics and reporting
  • Monitor and optimize ETL/ELT data transformation performance
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of modern cloud-based architectures, including Lakehouse models
  • Follow best practices for each technology and propose technical improvements
  • Respond proactively to team and management needs
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
  • Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and Python
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse
  • Apache Airflow for orchestration
  • Strong understanding of data architecture and pipeline design
  • Experience with BI data modelling and support for analytics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
