Your mission:

We are looking for a Data Engineer (m/f/d) at our Dresden location (hybrid).

Your responsibilities include:

- Contributing to the design and development of an on-premises data platform

- Developing and integrating components for data orchestration, deployment, and platform automation

- Creating proofs of concept, ideally using AI agent tools like Cursor.ai

- Implementing batch and streaming data pipelines as well as platform-related services

- Integrating workloads on Kubernetes and S3-compatible storage solutions

- Evaluating data catalogs and data versioning, and integrating them into the platform

- Investigating suitable data cataloging solutions and integrating them into the platform

- Working closely with lead architects, infrastructure, and security teams.

Your profile:

You should definitely possess the following knowledge and skills:

- You have a degree in computer science or a comparable qualification and want to design software that truly makes a difference

- You enjoy experimenting with proofs of concept and getting them up and running independently

- You have several years of experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes infrastructure, as well as with Linux operating systems

- With You are familiar with modern data platform architectures such as Kappa or Medallion, as well as batch and low-latency streaming pipelines.

- You have practical knowledge of Python, Go, SQL (MPP), Bash, and Java

. - You have already worked with many of these tools and technologies: S3, Apache Iceberg, GitOps workflows, NATS.io, Risingwave, Dagster, Spark, Kafka, Flink, and Airflow, ideally complemented by experience with Cursor.ai and concepts such as NUMA and core pinning.

- You are a cloud native, work proficiently with Linux, Linux containers, and Kubernetes, and have your own ideas on how to implement data management platforms at the edge entirely without public cloud services.

- Ideally, you can demonstrate several years of professional experience as a data scientist 

. - You impress with analytical thinking, an agile mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and a strong solution orientation.

- Excellent written and spoken German is required for effective communication within the project environment and with our German-speaking clients.
