Description

THESE TASKS AWAIT YOU

Hey you! Do you want to do more than just work with existing data structures? Do you want to help shape a modern data platform from the ground up? Are you eager to contribute your technical expertise, take on responsibility, and play a key role in shaping how we use data in the future? Then you've come to the right place! At ambelin, everything revolves around our tenants. Our goal is to reimagine housing: more modern, more efficient, and above all, tenant-focused. We want to ensure that everyone who lives with us feels they can rely on us – at all times. Tenant satisfaction isn't just a buzzword for us; it's our mission. Excellent service is our top priority. To further advance our mission, we're looking for employees who share our commitment. This is where you come in:

As a Data Engineer (m/f/d), you will support our innovative data platform project throughout its entire lifecycle  – from conception and development to ongoing enhancement. Working closely with our external implementation partners, you will further develop the platform, contribute your technical expertise, and actively shape its architecture and technical development. You will collaborate closely with Levin , our Head of Technology, and have the opportunity to eventually assume technical ownership of the platform. With the continued growth of our team, your role can also evolve into a lead position. Together, we will expand our in-house expertise – and you will grow professionally and personally alongside the platform.

YOUR MISSION:

  • You are responsible for the target architecture of our data platform and contribute your expertise to the evaluation of solutions, offers, effort estimates and technical implementations from our partner to ensure quality, scalability and sustainability .
  • Together with the engineers of our partner , you will develop the central data platform and be responsible for building stable data pipelines and providing consistent data structures.
  • You ensure the reliable connection of our central business systems and make sure that data is extracted, modeled and validated correctly and completely.
  • You will establish and secure our engineering standards – with code reviews, automated tests, CI/CD and clean documentation, as well as the consistent use of our repositories and environments from day one.
  • You ensure a structured knowledge transfer from the partner to the team – through pairing, documentation and a clearly planned ramp-down.
  • In the long term, you will assume technical responsibility for the data platform and develop it independently after the ramp-down.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • You bring sound practical experience in data engineering and have already accompanied real data projects throughout their entire life cycle.
  • You have experience in building ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines on modern cloud data platforms – ideally with Azure Databricks.
  • You are familiar with relational and dimensional data modeling and can design data structures to suit different requirements and develop them independently of specific tools or technologies.
  • You have in-depth experience with Microsoft Azure and feel at home in a modern cloud environment .
  • You are familiar with the principles of DevOps for data and have experience with CI/CD as well as automated build and test processes, ideally with Azure DevOps or similar tools.
  • You have experience in integrating data from ERP and central enterprise systems and are familiar with common approaches such as CDC tools or manufacturer-specific extraction interfaces.
  • You have high standards for data quality and ensure that data is reliable, complete and traceable – quality is a given for you.
  • You critically examine existing solutions and procedures and contribute your professional opinion to external partners. You possess the necessary assertiveness to clearly represent requirements and, if necessary, to offer constructive disagreement.
  • You are curious and have an affinity for AI tools  , and you are eager to try out new technologies and meaningfully integrate them into your daily work. For you, AI is not a buzzword, but a natural part of modern working methods.
  • You  communicate confidently in German and English and can also coordinate effectively with international or English-speaking project participants on technical topics.
