Your tasks
- Data modeling & architecture: You develop conceptual, logical and physical data models (star/snowflake schema, ideally also Data Vault) and classify target images such as Lakehouse, Medallion architecture or Data Mesh objectively – with a reasoned recommendation for the respective context, not according to trend.
- Selecting the appropriate storage format: You evaluate relational, document, key-value, graph, and vector databases in terms of consistency, scalability, and cost, and make informed decisions for each use case.
- Database expertise in depth: You are proficient in SQL, including query tuning, execution plans, indexing and partitioning (e.g., PostgreSQL), and ideally have productive experience with NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Redis.
- Pipelines & Integration (Batch and Streaming): You design and operate data pipelines and have practical experience with Kafka (topics, partitioning, consumer groups, schema registry, exactly-once semantics).
- Reporting & Analytics: You use Power BI beyond classic reporting – with DAX, semantic modeling and row-level security.
Your benefits
- 30 days of vacation + special leave days, e.g. Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve
- Company pension scheme
- Office dogs

That's what makes you stand out.
- You have a completed degree, e.g. in computer science, mathematics, natural sciences or a comparable education or training.
- Your several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer (m/f/d), ideally in the field of Data Warehouses, Data Lakes or Lakehouse architectures, sets you apart.
- In addition, you have very good SQL skills (query tuning, execution plans, indexing, partitioning) as well as advanced Python skills for transformation, automation and productive use.
- You have a solid understanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, Data Vault, Star/Snowflake schema) and modern architectural approaches (Medallion, Data Mesh, Lakehouse).
- You also have experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, and ideally with Microsoft Fabric, as well as the secure handling of Power BI, including DAX, semantic modeling and row-level security.
