What you will do: We’re looking for a hands-on professional Data Engineer to own and drive Mize’s data infrastructure. As the most senior data engineer in a small team, you’ll define our data engineering vision, build robust pipelines and systems, and partner with Data Science, BI, Product, and Engineering and other teams to power our core products. Responsibilities Design and build scalable pipelines using Azure, Databricks, and PySpark Own our Data Lakehouse and warehouse integration Define and implement data engineering best practices Collaborate across teams to support product and analytics needs Mentor a junior engineer and grow the team Requirements B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, with ownership of production pipelines Strong in Python, SQL, and big data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Delta Lake) Deep experience with cloud platforms, ideally Azure (Databricks, Data Factory, Blob Storage) Proven track record building batch and streaming pipelines in fast-moving environments Strong foundation in data modeling, ETL/ELT, and system performance tuning Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity environments with shifting priorities and business needs Self-starter who thrives in small teams with a strong sense of ownership Excellent collaboration and communication skills B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
