ARE YOU OUR NEW DATA ENGINEER?
Insights & Predictions is a new team in News Media Product & Consumer (Subscription Norway). Our team is responsible for commercial data & analytics across all brands (VG, Aftenposten, E24, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad and more). The team has a focus on creating personalised user experiences for our customers. With a focus on ML/AI and data-driven processes, we want to drive engagement and increase CLV for our customer base. You will be a part of a team that consists of Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists who are constantly driving value with data. To achieve all of the things we want, we are seeking a data engineer to further develop our data platform. You will be part of a growing team, where you will work on the newest technology, and have a big influence on architectural decisions on our data platform.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We need to strengthen our capabilities within applied analytics and to do that we need a modern data platform that enables our analysts and data scientists on our mission to strengthen our data-driven capabilities. We are looking for a person who will contribute to taking this area to the next level. A person who is able to design clear concepts, which are understood by both business and IT, are self-driven and versatile, and have an agile and proactive mindset. This role will be a key for increasing our capabilities and maximising the value of utilising behavioural and customer data across all brands in Schibsted.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/BACKGROUND:
- Relevant degree in Computer Science/Statistics/Math or Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience within data engineering or equivalent
- Good knowledge of the field of Business Intelligence, data warehouse architecture and experience with fundamental data modelling techniques, ETL/ELT/data integration.
- Good competence in SQL and preferably Python or Java. Experience with tools/frameworks such as Snowflake, dbt, git, Docker and Kubernetes is also a plus
- An understanding of best practises in software engineering and experience with CI/CD and AWS is a huge bonus
- A big plus if you have an understanding of domain-driven data architecture such as data mesh or data lakehouse
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and design efficient ETL workflows.
- Implementing and optimising data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes
- Developing scalable data solutions, ensuring data quality, reliability, and security.
- Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues to ensure the smooth operation of data pipelines.
- Contribute with your expertise and your drive for data and technology to drive decisions regarding architecture and data flow
- Collaborate with analysts, developers, business owners and data scientists to improve and refine today’s data
