Role: SX7182 - Data Engineer
Location: Regina, SK
Hourly Rate: Negotiable (depending on fit for job)
Work Hours: 8 hrs/day

Job requirement:

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science / Engineering, Data Sciences or a related discipline, or minimum 5 years related work experience
• Minimum 5 years experience within the last 7 years in working with modern data management principles
• Resource must be able to work and be located full-time on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, SK; Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Technical Skills

• SQL Server and SSIS
• Create and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes
• Monitoring and troubleshooting database and ETL issues
• Experience with Python for ETL and software development best practices
• PySpark and SparkSQL
• Cloud Expertise: Databricks, Azure Data Factory & Azure Data Lake.
• Lakehouse architecture & Delta format knowledge
• Experience with integrating third-party APIs as ETL Sources (incuding Microsoft Graph)
• Automation & Deployment: CI/CD, Git, DABs
• Providing insight into the changing database integration, storage and utilization requirements for the company and offer suggestions for solutions
• Oversee the integration of data from legacy and on-premises systems to new solutions
• Content Management and Data Management Programs and Governance
• Data Management Association (DAMA)
• Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK)
• Information Reference Architecture and Models
• Machine Learning
• Artificial Intelligence
• Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
• Industry Security Standards
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills in communicating technical information effectively in an easy to understand language
• Relevant job experience in North America

We are looking for a well-rounded developer to fill this role.
The candidate will be required to work and be located on-site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and the proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra).
