JOB DESCRIPTION:

At Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S) within Sun Life Canada our vision is to help our clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives with tailored advice and solutions through their channel of choice.
Retail Advice & Solutions (RA&S) Advanced Analytics & the Business Intelligence team are seeking a talented data engineer to join our team, to support our ever-growing data & insights needs within our business unit. Reporting to Director Of BI And Data Enablement and will be closely working with Senior data engineer within the team and will be a key member of our broader team responsible for maintaining and transforming our data foundation infrastructure.

UNIQUE REQUIREMENTS

• The candidate selected for this role is required to attain Canadian Reliability Security Clearance (administered by submitting fingerprints to the RCMP, who then conduct min. 5 year history checks)

  The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.

• Work with data analysts, data scientists, within RA&S Advanced Analytics and Business Intelligence teams to maintain efficient data foundation to support business intelligence/visualization, deep-dive analysis and predictive models
• Assemble & organize datasets that help to optimize data delivery & enable us to create innovative data products/data driven experiences
• Ensure the ongoing stability and efficiency of production systems by providing reliable production support services.
• Actively participate in the migration of on-premises data architecture to a cloud-based data lake infrastructure
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, key partners (CXO, DBTS teams etc.) to assist with data-related technical issues and support their business enquiries
