Your Role We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong analytical mindset and a keen interest in risk analytics. In this role, you'll support Tamara’s risk teams by turning complex data into actionable insights that help us manage risk exposure, refine lending strategies, and drive responsible growth. Your Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain feature marts to support machine learning models, underwriting strategies, and real-time decisioning. Develop scalable, production-grade data transformations using tools like SQL, dbt, or Python to power analytics, risk monitoring, and experimentation. Query and manipulate data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL, Snowflake) to deliver timely insights. Help enhance data quality through validation checks, anomaly detection, and observability of critical pipelines. Perform ad hoc analysis on new customer segments, risk events, or product changes. Help enhance data quality and develop scalable reporting solutions. Support experimentation and A/B testing related to risk initiatives. Collaborate closely with data scientists, risk analysts, and engineering teams to ensure robust data foundations for decision-making. Your Expertise 4–6 years of experience in a Business Intelligence, Data Analyst, Risk Analyst, or Analytical Engineering role. Strong SQL/Python skills; experience with BI tools like Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.Experience with data modeling, dbt, or orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) is required. Comfortable working with lending or financial data, or strong interest in developing domain knowledge in credit risk. Solid analytical thinking and problem-solving ability with strong attention to detail. Ability to clearly communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-starter mentality — proactive, curious, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in fintech, banking, or consumer lending is a plus.
