OVERVIEW:

The client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a 1-year remote contract. This role requires a highly skilled professional with a strong background in data architecture, pipeline development, and big data technologies. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructure to support business needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data processing.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Expertise in big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.).
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or dbt.
• Knowledge of data modeling, governance, and security best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fully remote team.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for processing large datasets.
• Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing efficiency across cloud-based platforms.
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure smooth data integration.
• Implement and maintain data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Stay up to date with emerging big data technologies and best practices.
