This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Data Engineer in the United States. This role offers a unique opportunity to design, implement, and optimize robust data pipelines that power analytics and machine learning initiatives. You will work closely with software engineering, machine learning, and data analytics teams to ensure high-quality, reliable, and well-structured data flows throughout the organization. The position involves building upstream validation and transformation layers, designing scalable systems, and improving overall data reliability for reporting and ML pipelines. Accountabilities Architect and develop scalable data pipelines and validation layers to ensure reliable, clean, and usable data. Ingest, normalize, and transform data from multiple 3rd-party payment providers and internal sources. Collaborate closely with ML engineers, software engineers, and data analysts to meet data requirements for analytics and machine learning initiatives. Design and implement transformation layers to optimize data for reporting products and ML models. Implement validation systems to detect anomalies, enforce data quality standards, and ensure consistency. Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data workflows, ensuring data arrives on time and meets quality expectations. Contribute to system architecture and design to support long-term scalability and performance. 5+ years of experience delivering value through data at high-growth, early-stage startups (payments experience preferred). Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP. Expertise in data modeling, SQL, and Python for data engineering tasks. Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow, Dagster). Familiarity with distributed systems workflows (e.g., Temporal, AWS Step Functions). Experience with cloud OLAP platforms and optimization (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery). Knowledge of Kafka pub/sub patterns and data ingestion processes. Experience with data transformation frameworks such as dbt. Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy, and the ability to work effectively on a small, fast-moving team. Competitive salary: $145,000 – $165,000 per year (USD). Fully remote position with flexibility to manage your workflow.
