Reporting to the Chief Financial Offer, this role leads initiatives across data engineering, data architecture, workflow automation, business intelligence, analytics solutions, and related items.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS A BROAD RANGE OF ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION WHICH INCLUDE:

  • Ability to effectively navigate ambiguity while working to drive clarity.
  • Ability to interpret business requirements and fully implement technology and data solutions that meet the requirements.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively overcome obstacles through diligence, leveraging resources, etc.
  • Experience in data engineering (e.g. ETL and related functions) and data architecture (e.g. building a data warehouse).
  • Experience in automating ETL functions, creating complex electronic workflows, etc.
  • Experience with effective use of business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, custom scripting) to publish dashboards and derive insights.
  • Experience with analytical approaches to derive deep insights.
  • Graduate degree in business analytics, information technology, computer science, or related field.

Responsibilities
  • Administration and management of the organization’s data infrastructure.
  • Monitor performance and optimize databases to ensure efficiency.
  • Assist with the design and development of data storage/integration/transformation/distribution strategies that can handle large volumes of varying types of data.
  • Monitor and maintain database security by implementing access controls, authentication, audit trails, and other security measures.
  • Integration of data from multiple sources such as legacy systems, cloud applications, proprietary file formats, APIs, event sourcing, and other databases. Develop and maintain data integration processes to ensure that the data is accurate, timely, and accessible across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and manage data to ensure the best possible accuracy.
  • Ensure that the organization’s data is backed up and can be recovered in the event of a disaster. Assist with the development and maintenance of the disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, define and maintain ETL.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, cloud technologies, and other tools.
  • Build business intelligence and analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and key business performance metrics.
  • Continuously learn about the business and the data that supports it.
  • Design and implement automated workflows to support various internal departments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Test, deploy, and maintain automation workflows to ensure ongoing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor and upgrade workflows as business needs evolve.
  • Analyze current business processes to identify opportunities for automation.
  • Continuously refine and optimize existing workflows to improve performance and reduce costs.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements based on data and business objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated workflows.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for all automation processes.
  • Proactively monitor automations for issues and performance enhancement opportunities.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to understand goals and align automation strategies accordingly.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current on trends in business process automation and best practices.
